This article explains how to define an hours worked condition for a pay/bill code rule. Hours worked conditions can be defined for time rules, schedule rules, and client schedule rules, but this process is specifically for pay code rule conditions.

How to define an Hours Worked Condition for a Pay/Bill Code Rule

  1. In the Edit Pay Agreement screen, go to the Conditions tab in the Pay Code Rule Entry pane, then click Add next to Hours Worked Condition.

  2. In the Comparison Type dropdown, select how the condition should match hours worked during a shift.

    • Equals: The hours worked during a shift equal a specific number of hours.

    • Less Than: The hours worked during a shift are less than a specific number of hours.

    • Less Than Equals: The hours worked during a shift are less than or equal to a specific number of hours.

    • Greater Than: The hours worked during a shift are greater than a specific number of hours.

    • Greater Than Equals: The hours worked during a shift are greater than or equal to a specific number of hours.

    • Between: The hours worked during a shift are between two values.

  3. If you selected a comparison type other than Between, in the Hours Worked column, enter the number of hours to compare against.

    • For example, if you select Less Than and enter 10, the condition applies when the hours worked during a shift are less than 10 hours.

  4. If you selected Between, in the Hours Worked From and Hours Worked To columns, enter the minimum and maximum number of hours that must be worked for the condition to apply.

    • For example, enter 10 in Hours Worked From and 12 in Hours Worked To to apply the condition to shifts where hours worked are between 10 and 12 hours.

  5. To add another hours worked condition to the same pay/bill code rule, click Add next to Hours Worked Condition again, then repeat steps 2–4.

πŸ“Œ Note: Do not continue after this step. The hours worked condition is now defined.
