Conditional variables are additional conditions used within a bill agreement to determine which rules apply and when they apply.
Conditional variables are particularly useful when the same agreement needs to apply different bill rates or conditions depending on role, classification, or similar criteria.
For example:
A nurse can be classified as Grade 1, Grade 2, or Grade 3
Each grade attracts a different bill rate based on experience and expertise
Instead of creating multiple bill rate rules, a single bill rate rule can be used
A conditional variable (for example, Nurse Classification) defines which bill rate applies to each grade
In this case, the conditional variable determines which bill rate is applied when the agreement is used.
When you apply a bill agreement to a job order, any conditional variables linked to that agreement are displayed when the agreement is selected, see screenshot below.
Conditional Variable Structure
Each conditional variable includes:
A unique name. For example: Nurse Classification
One or more values. For example: Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3
An optional mandatory flag
β οΈ Important:
If a conditional variable is marked as mandatory, the user must select a value before the system allows the agreement to be applied to Job Order.
Once a bill agreement is selected and values are chosen for its conditional variables, Pay & Bill Section, Add Rates table are listed as below.
