There are two types of holiday filters that can be applied in the Holiday Rule Entry screen when creating a holiday rule: weekend filters and year filters.

Weekend Filter

Weekend filters define what should happen if a holiday falls on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday).

⚠️ Important: Weekend filter can only be applied to holiday rules where the holiday condition type is set to Specific Date.

Here is how you can define a weekend filter:

  1. In the Holiday Filters field grouping on the Holiday Rule Entry screen, click Weekend Filter.

  2. In the dropdown field, select the condition that is to apply if the holiday falls on a weekend. For example, select Nearest Weekday if the holiday is to apply to the nearest weekday (Friday or Monday) if the holiday falls on a weekend.

Leap Year Filter

Year filters can be used to specify that the holiday rule applies to leap years only or that the holiday rule applies ever certain number of years.

To apply a leap year filter, follow steps below:

  1. In the Holiday Filters field grouping on the Holiday Rule Entry screen, click Year Filter.

  2. Click Is Leap Year.

The option is selected to indicate that the holiday rule applies to leap years only.

Year Filter

  1. In the Holiday Filters field grouping on the Holiday Rule Entry screen, click Year Filter.

  2. Click Every X Year. The option is selected to indicate that the holiday rule recurs every certain number of years.

  3. In the Start Year field, type the first year in which the holiday rule is to apply.

    • For example, if you type 2011, the holiday rule will be applied for the first time during the year 2011.

  4. In the Year Interval field, type the number of years interval between each instance of the holiday rule being applied.

    • For example: a value of 2 indicates that the holiday rule will apply every second year from the start year. If the start year is defined as 2011, the rule will apply in the years 2011, 2013, 2015 and so on.

πŸ“Œ Note: The rule will continue to be applied so long as the holiday rule is valid according to its validity period.
