Holiday types are used to identify special days, such as public holidays, that may affect how pay and bill agreements are calculated. Holiday types help the system recognize which days need special pay or billing treatment.

  • Example: A pay agreement might state that a payee must be paid at a higher rate when they work on a public holiday. To support this, a holiday type is created. Then, link to holiday rules to pay candidates correctly.

⚠️ Important
Holiday types must be created before holiday rules can be set up.

Where Holiday Types Are Used

Holiday types are used in several areas of Rates and Rules:

  • Identify days that count as a specific type of holiday.

  • Define Midnight Boundary & Unpaid break within a Pay Agreement.

  • Define holiday-based conditions in Pay code rules & Bill code rules.

Display On Job Schedule

Each holiday type includes a Display On Job Schedule option. When this option is turned on:

  • The holiday type is highlighted on the job schedule in Recruitment Manager

  • This happens when a shift falls on a day covered by the holiday type

  • The highlight alerts the user so they can review or remove the shift if needed

This helps prevent scheduling staff on holidays by mistake.

Create a Holiday Type

Holiday types are created and managed in the Maintenance area of Rates and Rules.

  1. Click Rates & Rules, then Maintenance, then Holiday Type.

  2. Click Add to open Holiday Type Entry screen.

  3. In Holiday Type Name, enter a clear and unique name (for e.g: Christmas Day – Aus)

  4. In Country, select the country the holiday type applies to.

  5. If you do not want the holiday type to be available yet, untick Active.

This action allows you to set up holiday types in advance and activate them later when needed.

  6. Click Display On Job Schedule to highlight on job schedules.

  7. Click Save.
