Holiday rules are used to define when a specific holiday occurs so it can be applied correctly in rates, conditions, and rules.

The holiday type must be active before it can be selected.
If the rule defines a holiday in a specific year, an end date is required and must be in the same calendar year.
Create a Holiday Rule
Follow these steps to create a new holiday rule.
Click Rates & Rules, then click Maintenance, then Holiday Rule.
Click Add to open Holiday Rule Entry screen.
In Holiday Rule Name, enter a unique name.
In Holiday Type, select the holiday type the rule applies to.
To set the Validity Period, click the calendar icon to choose Start Date, and leave the End Date empty to make the rule valid indefinitely.
In the Holiday Condition field grouping, select the holiday condition type and associated conditions as required.

Click Save.

Field | Description |
Name | A name that identifies the holiday rule. |
Type | The holiday type linked to the rule. |
Hierarchy Level | The agreement hierarchy level the holiday rule applies to. |
Hierarchy Value | The specific value at the selected hierarchy level (for example, a country or state). Click the search icon to find and select the required value. |
Hierarchy Group | An optional hierarchy group used to further match the rule to job orders. The rule applies when the hierarchy level, value, and group match the job order. If no exact match is found, the system checks for a match using hierarchy level and value only.
This field is only available if hierarchy groups are enabled for the country. |
Validity Start Date | The date the holiday rule becomes active. |
Validity End Date | The date the holiday rule expires. This can be left blank to make the rule valid indefinitely.
An end date is required if the rule defines a one-off holiday in a specific year. |
Holiday Condition Type | Determines how the holiday date is calculated: specific date, last full week of month, last week of month, or a day in a specific week of a month. |
Year | The calendar year the holiday applies to. This field is only available for Specific Date conditions. Entering a year makes the rule a one-off holiday for that year only. |
Month | The calendar month the holiday applies to. |
Day Number | The day of the month the holiday occurs (for example, 25). This field is only available for Specific Date conditions. |
Day in Week | The weekday the holiday occurs. This field is disabled when Specific Date is selected. |
Week Number | The week of the month the holiday occurs (for example, second week).
This field is only available for Day in a week of month conditions. |
Weekend Filter | When enabled, applies rules that control what happens if the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday. The specific behavior is selected from the dropdown list. |
Year Filter | Enables options to apply the holiday only in leap years or every X years.
This option is unavailable if a specific year is entered. |
Is Leap Year | Applies the holiday rule only in leap years.
This option cannot be selected together with Every X Year. |
Every X Year | Applies the holiday rule every specified number of years.
This option cannot be selected together with Is Leap Year. |
Start Year | The first year the recurrence cycle begins. The rule will repeat based on the defined year interval. |
Year Interval | The number of years between each occurrence of the holiday. The cycle continues until the validity end date is reached, or indefinitely if no end date is set. |
