Create and Manage Custom Exit Points

Create and manage Custom Exit Points to link external URLs to system records for quick access by users.

Custom Exit Points let you create links to external URLs that appear in the Quick Access section of key records. They help Users quickly access relevant external systems or pages directly from within the application.

Custom Exit Points can be applied to the following records:

  • Parent.

  • Client.

  • Client Contact.

  • Cost Centre.

  • Job Order.

  • Candidate.

  • User.


Create a Custom Exit Point

  1. Go to Maintenance, then click Custom Exit Point.

  2. Above the Custom Exit Point list, click Add.

  3. Enter the following details:

    • Location – Select where the Custom Exit Point should display.

    • Name – Enter a clear, descriptive name.

    • Description – Provide a short explanation of the link’s purpose.

    • URL – Enter the destination URL.

    • Pass Parameters – Select Yes if query string parameters should be passed in the URL.
      📌 Note: When Yes is selected, the system inserts the record number at the end of the URL.
      Example: Parent No = <<Parent No>>.

  4. Tick Active to enable the Exit Point.

  5. Click Save.


Manage Existing Custom Exit Points

Edit a Custom Exit Point

  1. Go to Maintenance, then click Custom Exit Point.

  2. Next to the Custom Exit Point you want to edit, click Edit.

  3. Make the necessary updates, then click Save Changes.


Delete a Custom Exit Point

  1. Go to Maintenance, then click Custom Exit Point.

  2. Find the Custom Exit Point you want to delete.

  3. Click Action, then select Delete next to the item.

  4. Click Delete, then confirm by selecting OK.


💡 Best Practices

  • Use meaningful names to help Users identify the purpose of each Exit Point.

  • Test all URLs before saving to ensure they open correctly.

  • Disable rather than delete Exit Points that may be needed later.

  • Only enable Pass Parameters when required by the external system.

  • Answer: They display in the Quick Access section of each selected record type.

  • Answer: Yes, you can enter any valid URL, including internal or intranet links.
