Navigate Between Modules and Records

Learn how to use the left-hand panel, navigation bar, and links to move between modules and records.

This article explains how to move around the application using the left-hand panel menu, navigation bar, links (hotlinks), and section controls so you can quickly find and manage records such as jobs, clients, and cost centres.

Important: You only see Maintenance options in the menu if you have permission to access maintenance settings for that module.


Navigate Between Modules and Records

Use the left-hand panel menu

  1. Look at the left-hand panel on the main screen to see the modules you can access.

  2. Click a module name, such as Recruitment Manager, to expand its sub-menu.

  3. Click the forward arrow icon to drill down into sub-elements within the module, then click the backward arrow icon to go back to the previous menu panel.

  4. At the lowest level, click a menu item to open the corresponding record or feature on the right-hand side of the screen.

  5. To move from one record or feature to another, click a different item in the left-hand panel menu.


Collapse or pin the left-hand panel menu

  1. To create more space for your record, click Collapse Menu at the bottom left of the screen.

  2. Review the left-hand panel as it changes to show icons instead of full menu labels.

  3. Hover your mouse over the icons to temporarily expand the left-hand panel menu.

  4. When you want to keep the menu fully expanded again, click the pin icon at the bottom left to re-pin the left-hand panel menu.


Access Maintenance settings from the menu

  1. In the left-hand panel, click a module such as Recruitment Manager.

  2. Look at the bottom of that module’s menu for a Maintenance item.

  3. Click Maintenance to open the maintenance settings for that specific module.

  4. To access maintenance settings that apply across more than one area of the product, use the main (top-level) Maintenance item that appears in the left-hand panel when you first log in.


Use the navigation bar

  1. In Recruitment Manager, look at the fixed navigation bar at the top of the main window.

  2. Check the navigation bar to see the last three pages you viewed, with the current page shown last.

  3. To return to a previously viewed record or area, click its name in the navigation bar.

  4. Continue working in the record or screen that opens from the navigation bar.


Open records using hotlinks

  1. Look for record names or IDs that appear as links (for example, in blue text) in lists or on other records.

  2. When you see a linked value such as a client name, client number, or cost centre, click the link to open the corresponding record in the current browser window.

  3. To open the record in a new tab, right-click the link, then select Open link in new tab.

  4. To open the record in a separate browser window, right-click the link, then select Open link in new window.


Hide and show sections in a record

  1. In Recruitment Manager, find the section or item you want to hide or show within a record.

  2. To hide (minimise) a section, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of that section.

  3. To show (maximise) a hidden section, click the down arrow on the right-hand side of the section.

  4. Repeat these steps to hide sections you do not need to see and increase the available screen space.


Return to the top of a record

  1. Within a primary record in Front Office, look for the black icon with a white up arrow.

  2. Click this icon to quickly jump back to the top of the record.

  3. Continue navigating the record or use the left-hand panel and navigation bar to move to other areas as needed.
