Copying a pay code rule lets you reuse an existing rule as the basis for a new one. When you copy a rule, the new rule inherits all attributes from the original (validity dates, conditions, actions, and action limits), except for the rule name. You can then update any of these attributes to meet the requirements for the new rule.

Copy a Pay Code Rule

  1. Open the relevant pay agreement in the Edit Pay Agreement screen (if it is not already open).

  2. In the Secondary Interpretation section, click the open arrow to the right of Secondary Interpretation - Pay Code Rules.

  3. Click the required pay code rule type for which one or more pay code rules have been defined.

    • The number of existing rules is shown in brackets next to the rule type name.

    • For example, Manual (3) indicates that three manual rules exist within the agreement.
The section for the selected pay code type expands and displays any existing rules.

  4. In the list of rules, find the rule you want to reuse and click Copy next to that rule (for example, a rule named Meal).
A confirmation message opens, asking you to confirm that you want to copy the rule.

  5. In the confirmation message, click Yes.
The confirmation message closes and a new rule appears at the bottom of the list, containing a copy of the selected ruleโ€™s settings.

  6. Click View / Edit next to the newly copied rule.

  7. In the Name field, enter a name for the new rule.

  8. Update the rule as needed:

    • Change the validity dates.

    • Adjust the conditions.

    • Modify the actions.

    • Update any action limits.

  9. In the navigation pane on the left-hand side of the screen, click OK.
A confirmation message appears, indicating that the agreement has been saved successfully.
