Save Field Mapping Templates

Learn how to save and reuse field mapping templates during the timesheet import process so you do not need to configure mappings each time.

This article explains how to save field mapping templates at the Import Settings stage of the Timesheet Import Batch process. Saving a template lets you apply the same mapping the next time you import the same type of timesheet file, so the system automatically maps your file’s column headers to the relevant FastTrack timesheet fields.

πŸ“Œ Note: Saved templates can be deleted at any time if they are no longer required.


Save Field Mapping Templates

  1. At the Import Settings stage of the Timesheet Import Batch process, map each column header in your import file to the relevant timesheet field. For more information on mapping fields, see the article Process a Timesheet Import File.

  2. Click Save Template. The Save Template window opens.

  3. In the Please provide a name for the template field, enter the name you want to use for the template.

  4. Click OK. The window closes and the template name is added to the list in the Import template field.


Delete a field mapping template

  1. At the Import Settings stage of the Timesheet Import Batch process, go to the Import template field.

  2. Select the template you want to delete.

  3. Click Delete Template.
