The Payslip Super section of the Australian payslip document format includes an Amount Period TD field, which displays a running total of superannuation accrued by the payee to a given superannuation fund.
To access the document format, click Maintenance, then click Document Format.
What's changed
Previously, this field displayed the total superannuation accrued since the start of the payee's current quarterly contribution period for the corresponding fund, reflecting the contribution period model that applied under the former superannuation legislation.
For pay batches with a payment date on or after 1 July 2026, the Amount Period TD field now displays the total superannuation accrued to the fund within the current pay period of the payee's pay group, in line with the payday superannuation legislation that takes effect from that date.
For pay batches with a payment date before 1 July 2026, the field continues to display the superannuation accrued since the start of the current contribution period.
Benefits
This update ensures that payslips accurately reflect the payday superannuation legislative changes that take effect from 1 July 2026, under which the concept of quarterly contribution periods is removed.
Payees will be able to see their superannuation accrual on a pay-period basis, consistent with the new requirement for employers to make superannuation contributions within seven business days of each payday.
